I am about to experience an opportunity of a lifetime and I want to be able to share it with all that I know.
This blog was originally created to keep up with the small and wonderful things in my life. I have been blessed with more than I could ever ask for. Shelter, food, a loving support system of family and friends and many opportunities educationally and culturally. In the beginning, I wanted to blog all of the ups and beautiful things about my life, which boy have there been many. I soon began to grow and was able to blog about everything, reality. My dad becoming sick, learning to live on my own, changes that I was terrified of and many challenges career wise and personally. I learned that I cannot control many things, plans change and always for a reason however many of times, that reason comes far after and the reason couldn't be more clear. There is always that "Ahaa" moment. After awhile, I felt as if I was blogging and not living and took a break. In the past year, I have felt more alive than I have in my 28 years.
Year 28, I changed grades and started teaching Kindergarten. I was terrified but what a blessing. This year was joyful, tiring at times, but it showed me I can do anything I put my mind to. Year 28, I ran a half marathon. Never in a million years did I think I would and I did. It was tough, intense but I overcame and have never felt a feeling like I did.
Year 28, on July 12th, I am going to Ethiopia in Africa. This is something I have wanted to do my entire life. I am thankful for all those that have helped and would not be able to serve others and see a much broader perspective without your support. I have been overwhelmed by the support and am so thankful for it. This blog, will now serve as an opportunity for my loved ones to see my journey. A journey that I am thankful for, anxious as well as excited about.
I am truly grateful for all the experiences, highs and lows in my life at this point. Here is to an adventure of a lifetime and here is to your love that keeps me going. I would not be where I am without the love, helping hands and contributions of many of you.
I cannot wait to share with lies ahead in the next few weeks.
Lots of love and thanks,
Meredith
